🇿🇦I won an audition. I have been weighing up whether to share this as the contract is not yet signed, but I realised that for me the achievement of getting into and winning a position was one of the high points. I will be the euphonium & baritone player for the Thüringia Police Orchestra until October. I will also be continuing my work with the music school. So excited about this opportunity and how I will grow as a performer. 🇿🇦 I don’t even have words to describe the incredible feeling of conducting my own music in a beautiful setting with lovely people. Here are a few photos from the weekend in Drebach. Thanks to @jbobernsdorf and @robin.kuerschner for the opportunity. Here is a little excerpt of Symphonik Sketches composed for the Jugendblasorchester Bernsdorf e.V. Honestly, I was apprehensive for the premiere as one of the members of the band regarded the piece too highbrow for the community. I was very pleased when members of the public came to say how much they enjoyed the piece - and the intensive programme overall. A great feat for the band! So if you want to make up your own mind, come and join us on Sunday. P.S. It was also very cool to conduct my own piece - thank you Robin for the suggestion! 🇿🇦 Couldn’t help but ask to have a photo in the snow! This is still so cool (😜) for me! Tomorrow is set for a chilling -11 degrees. At least we can try warm the crowds with our music. Looking forward to it! 🇿🇦 This week I'm traveling to Saxony to perform as a soloist with fantastic musicians at the New Year's concert of the Bernsdorf Youth Wind Orchestra. We only had time to record one of the first rehearsals, but perhaps it will inspire you enough to come to the concerts yourselves. 🇿🇦Last gig of 2025!
